Apprenticeship Program
GOAL: To select, develop and train high school graduates (or equivalent) to become skilled craftsmen and future leaders of Detyens Shipyards, Inc.
STRATEGY: To provide the apprentice with a parallel course of academic learning and On-the-job Training (OJT) for a period ranging approximately 11 semesters. The program is designed to develop the apprentice in the areas of technical and academic ability. At the conclusion of the program the apprenctice should have earned a certificate in Leadership and Basic Industrial Work Skills with an Associate Degree in General Technology. The Apprentice should also have honed his/her skills to be placed in the 1st class category of their trade.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED or otherwise be elgible for enrollment in Trident Technical College
- Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the position for which selected
